Speaker, education continues to receive the lion’s share of spending as Government continues to provide access to basic and higher education as well as to skills development and training. A sum of Kshs55.4 billion has been set aside to cater for the Free Day Secondary Education Programme and Kshs13.4 billion for Free Primary Education Programme. To increase the teacher to student ratio, we have provided Kshs3.2 billion for recruitment of additional teachers."
