I beg to support the Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations. I want to go on record that I know three or four of these personalities. They are career diplomats. In line with the provisions of the Constitution and the Public Appointment (Parliamentary Approval) Act of 2011, the Committee subjected all of them to the statutory requirements in terms of qualifications, tax compliance, integrity through the EACC, certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and the Leadership and Integrity Act."
