    "content": "Hundreds of fishermen have been affected by this directive and, as a consequence of the restriction, they are currently struggling to earn a living or even pay school fees for their children. This is because they solely depend on fishing as their only means of subsistence and livelihood. It is on account of these challenges being faced by the coastal fishermen that I seek a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock on the following: (i) What measures are there to cushion coastal fishermen from hunger in the face of the current fishing restriction? (ii) What specific relief programme has the Government earmarked for both current and future fishing restrictions? Thank you, Hon. Speaker."
