"content": "doctors, equipment and facilities. We have emergent diseases that were not there before in our country. They are no longer emergent. For example, cancer is a major threat to the population of the country. In 2017, we passed a very important Bill in the House to give the Ministry of Health resources to train oncologists so that Level 4 hospitals can have facilities to screen for cancer cells. The reason why we take a lot of our money to India is because we detect cancer in patients at the third or fourth stage. Rarely do we identify cancer at stage two. It is only few of us who go to the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi Hospital or MP Shah who detect upfront what we are suffering from. We must be extremely grateful to the people of this country. A large portion of our population does not have access to that benefit. That is why we must begin to think differently by asking where we should put our efforts."
