Members, the petitioners are, therefore, praying that the National Assembly, through the Departmental Committee on Lands, opens up fresh and transparent investigations into the matters raised in this Petition, particularly the forcible dispossession of both the Borowo and Chemorore families without compensation, and the circumstances relating to the eviction, without compensation, of the Kipsigis community from their ancestral land in Kimulot in an operation which commenced in February 1952, with a view to ensure that the land rights of the petitioners are upheld as stipulated in the Constitution and the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights."
