"content": "(i) That particular firm must submit an application by filing the STA 1 forms together with payments for the permit fees. (ii) Inspection is carried out by the KEBS technical officers who verify the processes for compliance to a documented scheme of supervision and control. (iii) Samples are drawn from the processing line and tested for compliance to the respective Kenyan standards. (iv) Upon confirmation of compliance, the technical officer presents the firm to KEBS Service Standardization Committee. (v) Based on the recommendations by technical officers, the firm is granted the permit to use the standardization mark for a period of one year. Surveillance is done on the firm within the permit validity period to monitor compliance. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to table a list of firms that have been approved to use the standardization mark."
