    "content": "The Committee did a very good thing to consider this Petition, go into its details and think about the plight of Kenyans. We hope that this will never happen again in this country. For quite a number of years, there have been clashes after elections and people are displaced and they do not go back to their land. Following the 2008 post-election violence, people have never gone back to land for which they have title deeds. I believe Kenyans are free to settle in any part of the country. An act of goodwill has happened. This House has no business reversing goodies which are already guaranteed by our Constitution for the benefit of Kenyans. We have seen one of the worst cases of election violence in this country. We have been to the Hague and back. Through this particular lesson, people should not be displaced again in this country. It has not just happened in the Rift Valley and Central regions of this country; it has also happened in the Coast region and many other parts of the country. People wait for an opportunity of election violence to displace others from lands they have settled on and farmed all their life."
