"content": "beyond ethnic and regional, to look for other areas of inclusivity with regard to seeing how many women and people with disabilities are actually there. As much as we are looking at regional balance and the ethnic composition of our workforce, we would also like to see the other aspects of inclusivity, equality and equal opportunities as pertains to women, the youth and people with disability. I hope that the Committee will also include those issues which are very easy to determine from the data that they will obtain. Mr. Speaker, Sir, if you look deeply into the issue of inclusivity, you will realize that it is also about education. We could also argue that, perhaps, it is not merit alone that is going to determine where you get placed in our Public Service. We should also scrutinize whether our education system is inclusive enough to ensure that upstream to the job market, we have an inclusive representation of everybody in our country as opposed to having one ethnic or regional group or one gender represented in our work force. The issue of inclusive education is also important, especially for us who come from those parts of the country where there is a lot of disparity with regard to education. We hope the Committee will give recommendations on the factors that are causing this. Mr. Speaker, Sir, looking at the issues around what this Statement is speaking to, as you know, we have had issues around ethnic antagonism and competition. Recently, we watched on television people who were being hauled to the courts having the same names or the same regional background. Perhaps this could be the reason why these questions are being asked. We need to look beyond ethnic balance to other perspectives that include women, youth and people with disability."
