"content": "Hon. Speaker, I beg to move that the Statistics (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 37 of 2019) be now read a Second Time. This Bill seeks to amend various provisions of the Statistics Act, 2006. This Act currently mandates the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) to be the principal agency for the collection, analysis, dissemination of any statistical data and also to be the only body that is the custodian of official Government statistics and to perform any other specified functions related thereto."
