    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I thank the Committee Chairman for giving a Statement. It is easy for me to say that I will come up with new legislation, but a lot of work has gone into this document already. It has gone back and forth. It will be an injustice to children if we start the process all over again. So, I undertake to work with the steering committee and visit the Attorney-General and try to fast-track it. What is important is to recognise that our children are vulnerable. We cannot enact the Children Act piecemeal. From 2001 to 2019, we have had many issues in society. Children are being trafficked, exploited, raped and they are giving birth. I feel it is important we work together to make sure that this Bill, that has been worked on for many years, is brought before the House as soon as possible."
