    "content": "Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning to undertake the necessary approval hearings. Hon. Members, section 7(11) of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission Act, 2011, requires the National Assembly to either approve or reject the nominee to the respective position within fourteen (14) days. In this regard, I wish to guide the Committee and the House as follows: (i) The Committee should notify the nominee and the general public of the time and place for holding the approval hearing, in good time. The notification should therefore be made on Wednesday, 20th November 2019; and, (ii) The Committee may thereafter commence the necessary approval hearing and submit its report to this House on or before Tuesday, 3rd December 2019 in respect of the nominee of the Parliamentary Service Commission to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
