"content": "The IPU is a focal point for worldwide parliamentary dialogue. It is 130 years old and the question would be its continuing relevance in today’s world. In 1889 when the IPU was established, there were many forces that are alien today. We had forces of colonialism; remnants of slavery; the civil rights movement in the United States (US) which had not even been born and apartheid in South Africa (SA) too.
