The Clerk is also instructed to ensure that the Table Office dispatches requests for Statements, Petitions and Questions that are submitted to the relevant Committees immediately. I have received complaints that some of the requests have stayed at the Table Office for inordinately too long before being presented to the relevant Committees for consideration. That, of course, translates to the Members making the requests or asking the Questions or presenting the Petitions to later blame those Committees. It has come to my notice that it is not all the Committees that are to blame. Some of the delays are caused in the Table Office. Therefore, the Clerk is directed to ensure that the Table Office functions as it should. These kinds of requests should be dispatched without delays, especially when it is a Question by Private Notice and requests for Statements to which the Chairpersons have given commitments as to when they are going to respond to.
