Kariuki used to sit here with us and always reminded us that one of the things that blinds many politicians is the illusion of power. I am talking of the late Hon. G.G. Kariuki who when the former President Daniel Arap Moi took power, him and Sir. Charles Njonjo used to share the presidential limousine. He was here and told us that there is something that is called illusion of power that blinds many politicians. We end up celebrating negative acts the moment we are on the side of power. However, when the power is not there, we become victims of the same brutality. Therefore, we must condemn this act."
