"content": "At the outset, it is clear that our own Constitution requires sufficient public participation. When you come to Legal Notice No.88 on retirement, there was a very serious issue which requires that if the amendments were carried, they were meant to deny the people who retire early their full benefits. This is because the current Act provides that if you go on early retirement, you are entitled to your full benefits and 50 per cent of the employer’s contribution. But the proposed amendment is going to remove those rights that, if you go on early retirement, you are not entitled to your contribution and 50 per cent of the employer’s contributions until you reach the retirement age."
