"content": "Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to ably support this Statement by Sen. Cherargei, of Nandi County. It is very important and timely. The issue of independence of the Judiciary, which my learned friend, Sen. Kang‟ata, seems not to have forgotten, is well espoused in Article 160 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya, 2010. The independence of the Judiciary, well espoused in that Article, clearly gives five limbs. This is the scenario where, I think, Sen. Cherargei derived his thoughts. It is espoused strongly that the authority of the Judiciary can only be exercised subject to the Constitution, and the law and shall not be subject to any control or direction of any person; that is given."
