Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 41 of the Bill be amended in subclause (3) by inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (d) ─ (e) the cost of processing data and the technologies and tools used. It is imperative to have in mind the cost of processing data and technologies and tools used in processing data. This is because you need big servers for storing data. It is important to have in mind the cost of storage when a particular data controller or data processor is used to give a particular data of a subject for a period of time. The cost of collecting and giving this particular data will make it very expensive for the data controllers or processors to give data for a period of time, say, seven years. In other laws, you need to give the account of records for seven years. However, for data, basically we are saying that as soon as you are done with the use of this data, it should be deleted immediately so that it does not consume resources in terms of servers and other equipment.
