I rise to ask Question No.468/2019 to the CS for the National Treasury and Planning: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why diabetes management devices such as insulin syringes, insulin pumps and blood sugar test strips are subjected to VAT yet diabetes vaccines and drugs are exempted from VAT? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary consider proposing a framework to facilitate affordability of blood sugar monitoring devices and enable medics to make necessary drug adjustments to patients?"
