"content": "Hon. Speaker, pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order 44(2)(a), I rise to give the following Statement, on behalf of the House Business Committee (HBC), following its meeting held on Tuesday, 29th October, 2019. Without anticipating debate on the Motion appearing under Order No.10, it is expected that we will not have a sitting tomorrow, Thursday, 31st October 2019 due to the Inaugural Parliamentary Forum scheduled for the entire day tomorrow. In this regard, the HBC resolved that the Statement regarding the Business for the coming week be given today. On Tuesday, next week the House will consider the following Bills in Committee of the whole House: 1.The President’s Reservations to the Finance Bill, 2019; and, 2.The Public Finance Management (Amendment) Bill, 2017. The Data Protection Bill, 2019, will also be prioritised for consideration in a Committee of the whole House on Wednesday next week. We, therefore, urge any Member with proposed amendments to the Data Protection Bill or the Public Finance Management (Amendment) Bill to submit them to the Office of the Clerk before the end of today for processing. Hon. Speaker, we will also consider the following Bills at Second Reading next week: (i) The Parliamentary Pensions (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.45 of 2019); (ii) The Parliamentary Pensions (Amendment) (No.3) Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 57 of 2019); (iii) The Competition (Amendment) Bill, 2019; and, (iv) The Insurance (Amendment) Bill, 2019. We have also prioritised the following Committee Reports for debate next week: (i) the Report of the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations on Ratification of the Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the Republic of South Africa on Defence Co-operation, if we do not conclude it today; and,"
