In the Statement, I would like to request the Committee to do the following- (1) Explain the current financial status of the NCPB; (2) State reasons why the NCPB has not paid staff salaries and suppliers for a number of months. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am saying this because I called the National Cereals Board and they said that they have not even paid salaries. Therefore, if they have not paid salaries and harvesting is going on, it is then very worrying, because harvesting has started in Bungoma; we are expecting Uasin Gishu and Trans Nzoia counties to start harvesting next month.
