On Tuesday, following the vote that was taken in this House, I was convinced by my colleagues that in the interest of the people of Taita/Taveta County, the best thing to do – which is not necessarily the right thing – was to set up the Committee, as per the Motion that was brought by The Senate Majority Leader. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I appreciate that we might hold divergent opinions in this House, but at the end of the day when the House carries a vote, we are then all bound by it. Therefore, I could have had certain convictions then, but as an open-minded and liberal politician in this House, I have been convinced by my colleagues through the vote that they made on Tuesday. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also agree with your ruling on the independence of Parliament.
