Speaker, in July 2019, the Cabinet Secretary for Lands, accompanied by the then County Commissioner and a security team visited the land and assured the victims that they would not be evicted until the Government finds a solution to the land problem. She assured the affected families that the Government had two options, to either compensate the individual claiming ownership or allow the affected families to continue occupying the land or resettle the affected families on a new piece of land to be acquired by the Government."
