"content": "There is also the amendment to the Persons with Disabilities Act. We need to look at our laws. Are our laws meant for public institutions? The Government funds public institutions. What about the private sector? The private sector should be part and parcel of the laws of this country. Public institutions conform to the laws. However, what happens to the private sector which employs quite a huge percentage of the people and is included in decision-making in this country? I know the private sector might have a problem. As a country, we need to look at whether our laws affect the private sector, for example, the Companies Act. It is high time we not only mentioned people living with disabilities and their percentage in public institutions, but also in the private sector. We should make it mandatory for the private sector to conform to this law, so that we do not leave this to public institutions and Government agencies only. It is important for us to look at that issue when we bring some amendments."
