Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to support this Motion on the Petition by the Executive for the Variation of the Boundaries of Mount Elgon Forest Reserve. At the outset, I support the Motion. I am a Member of this Committee. Conservation must have human face. If we need to have sustainable conservation in this country, we must realise that human beings are part of that ecosystem and habitat. If we want to conserve our forest and environment in a way that is sustainable and effective in use, it is critical that we look at all issues holistically."
