"content": "One of the livestock products that need to be looked into is milk. We already have the Kenya Dairy Board in the highlands. That is why we are putting a lot of emphasis on the products from the ASAL. For your information, we also have dairy animals from ASAL areas like dairy camels, goats and dual purpose cattle which give us a lot of milk. ASAL areas do not get milk from the highlands except when there is a very serious drought. A lot of camel milk is supplied to the Nairobi market today. It is also medicinal but the Dairy Board Act does not mention anything to do with camel milk, which is a very important dairy product.
