"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, mine is a request. The point made by Sen. Wetangula is an important one that should not go unchallenged or that this House should not fail to look into. The policy is that education needs to be free from primary up until secondary level. It true that schools find some crafty ways of getting charges out of parents. In as much as the Jubilee Government’s intention is very clear on free primary education, there are certain unscrupulous school administrators who are levying some funds on parents, especially in the slum areas. Mr. Speaker, Sir, would it be good to request that either Sen. Wetangula or the Committee on Education, if there is any Member here, come back to the House on that matter, in as much as it has not come up as a Statement, but is subject of the debate of the House today and it needs to be ventilated further? Would it not be prudent if we actually get to the bottom of that because it is not a matter where Sen. Wetangula wants to score? It is not for political banter, but because he actually cares, as we all do, for our children in the country. It would be useful to do so. If that is not possible, I will bring the statement."
