Members, I wish to reiterate my Communication which was made on 22nd August 2018 during the Special Motion on the Appointment of Nominees for Appointment as Chairperson and Members of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA). In that Communication I indicated, among other things, that given that the nominee is appointed to a public office as an individual but not as a collective body, the decision or resolution of the House ought to be a true and accurate reflection of the wishes of the House irrespective of the methodology used to execute any given Motion. Therefore, I have decided that given that there is a majority and minority report, I will put the Question to the name of every nominee, one by one, and if need be, if the House so desires or wishes to go into a division as it appears to have recently caught the House, so be it. It is still your prerogative, Hon. Members. Whichever way you vote, it is on the Report of the Committee and we are dealing with it on the strength of the provisions of Article 124(4)(b) of the Constitution. Therefore, Hon.
