Temporary Deputy Chairlady, let me commend the Committee for proposing increment from 10 per cent to 20 per cent and also thank the Speaker for his guidance in line with Article 114 in declining the proposed amendments by the two Members. As the Speaker said, it was queer for Members of the Committee to propose amendments that were counter to the proposals by the Committee. The Speaker mentioned it. It is not just a fact that the Members were sitting in the Committee, but their proposals were negating what the Committee had proposed.
