    "content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I congratulate Sen. (Dr.) Ali for bringing this Statement to the House. I laud him for highlighting this issue that not only affects the people of the North Eastern part of Kenya, but many Kenyans. The Committee that will look into this matter should look at how we can devolve all matters pertaining passport issuance to possibly all the county headquarters in the counties. Kenyans are forced to queue for long hours at Nyayo House to apply for passports. The cost of transport and accommodation for people seeking passports is high. Many of our people are not even informed on where you can get such a document. The Committee that will be looking into this matter should look into how the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government is dealing with processing of issuance of national identity cards, passports and all the other documents that are required by the citizens of this country. If that is done, it will be easier for our people to access the necessary documents without a struggle."
