Indeed, in countries like the United States you may cease acting, if you come across or have any suspicions that your client may be engaging in suspicious activities, but you are not required to report it and you are not criminally culpable. In the UK, it is confidential unless the disclosure is required or permitted by law. The Bill proposes to bring very weighty amendments that actually touch on the practice of advocates through the Finance Bill. It touches on Article 31 of the Constitution of Kenya on the right to privacy and on the rights to confidentiality on the relationship between advocates and their clients."
