The Senate is supposed to oversee the county governments and scrutinise the budget to ensure that all monies appropriated by the National Assembly go to the intended purpose and to assist Wanjiku in healthcare and water. Unfortunately, they have gone to bed with governors. Nowadays, when governors are summoned to the Senate, before they come, they pass through a certain club to negotiate and are given a clean bill of health.
