    "content": "Madam Temporary Speaker, I thank you for protecting me from the loud consultations by Sen. Cherargei. Madam Temporary Speaker, these xenophobic attacks have been sporadic from the year 2008 and the trend seems to continue. It is unfortunate that lives of foreign nationals in South Africa are not safe in light of the attacks. The efforts by the Government of South Africa to contain the xenophobic attacks are commendable. The President of South Africa has denounced the attacks and called for action against perpetrators of the violence. Arrests have been made, and it is our hope that more will be done to prevent recurrence of such attacks in the future. Madam Temporary Speaker, it is important, as a country, to safeguard the lives of our citizens across the globe and in this case South Africa where they are facing a tough time.
