Wamatangi, one time a long while ago, we had a visitor in this village. The visitor incentivized us by telling me to take my people around and plant trees. For every tree that they plant, she was going to compensate them.” They then took it as an initiative and, after that, they started doing it for themselves. That village became a center of attraction. That visitor was the Late Prof. Wangari Maathai.
