    "content": " Hon. Speaker, I beg to move that the Senate amendments to the Copyright (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.33 of 2017) be now considered. Hon. Speaker, I want to give a brief introduction of the Copyright (Amendment) Bill (National Assembly Bill No.33 of 2017). The Bill sought to amend the current Copyright Act of 2001 in order to domesticate certain provisions of the Marrakesh Treaty which Kenya has signed. That Treaty facilitates access to all published works for persons, who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise print disabled which came into force on 30th September 2016. As the Constitution envisaged, all international treaties the country signs must be domesticated. That is what it is trying to do.
