    "content": "The intention to decentralise the issuance of clearance certificates from KPA in Mombasa could be noble. However, what needs to be done is what the Senator said in the last prayer in the Statement, that proper consultations be held so that we do not kill business at the port and take it elsewhere. It would profit everyone in this country, the business people, importers and the general economy if consultations are held and decisions made as to what levels of clearance certificates would be issued at the point of entry and elsewhere in the inland container depots. In line with recent and previous pronouncements by His Excellency the President, I would urge that we fast track the handling of containers especially the ones that have been brought to Nairobi. Before these decisions are made, all the stakeholders need to come together and have conversations around the issue of business and efficiency so that when the final decision is made, everyone is taken care of.
