"content": "Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to support this Motion. Water is important. In fact, plants and animals need it to survive. No animal on earth can survive without water. For example, people can survive without food, but they cannot survive without water. Water carries nutrients to help the body and oxygen to the brain. If a person has oxygen deficiency, it can affect them adversely. That is why water plays that salient role. It also allows our bodies to absorb minerals and flushes out toxins and wastes. However, if you use a toilet in a house where there is no water, you will have difficulties. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, water has medicinal value. For example, I am a cancer survivor. When I was going through chemotherapy, the doctor said that I must drink a lot of water, because it will help to flush out toxins. It is important for people to take clean water, as stipulated for in Article 43 of our Constitution. One of the social- economic rights is that every Kenyan must have access to clean water. Therefore, it is important for all households to access water. Many households in different parts of the country are unable to access water. I know that the residents of Langata have a big challenge in accessing water. All county governments must ensure that people access water, which is a socio-economic right. One cannot do much without water."
