Speaker, for giving me the chance to ask this Question to the CS for Industry, Trade and Co-operatives: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary state whether any audit has been or is being undertaken on all food processing companies in the country, including the quality assurance systems in place, in view of the recent discovery of contaminants such as aflatoxins in food samples in the market? (ii) What measures has the Ministry put in place to ensure that quality assurance systems in all food processing companies are continuously improved and monitored to safeguard the quality of food items being consumed in the country?
