Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Motion that has come as a result of the disaster that struck our nation in West Pokot County. Before I proceed, I want to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loves ones and the nation at large. Let me also take this opportunity to thank all the people who struggled to reach the affected places starting with organisations that responded with the swiftness that we require. My appreciation goes to the Red Cross Kenya, the leadership of this country, namely, the Deputy President, the Senators and Members of the National Assembly who visited the area, religious leaders and everyone who visited the people."
