    "content": "Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker, Sir. As we commemorate the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) that is marked globally on 3rd December every year, I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No.47(1), to make a Statement on the commemoration of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, scheduled for 13th December, 2019. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is an international human rights Treaty of the United Nations, intended to protect the rights and dignity of people with disabilities. It was ratified on 13th December, 2006, in the following languages; Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish. It was signed in March, 2007 and effected in May, 2008. The Convention is the only UN human rights instrument with an explicit sustainable development dimension.
