I rise to ask Question No.530 of 2019 to the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Interior and Coordination of National Government: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain the circumstances that led to the indefinite closure of the Kapedo National Police Reservist’s Camp in Tiaty Constituency? (ii) What urgent steps is the Ministry taking to ensure the camp is reopened and police reservists recalled for enhancement of security in the area? (iii) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why the reservists have not been incorporated into the National Police Service, and the measures in place for coordination of operations between the police and reservists?
