    "content": " Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me a chance to contribute to this very important Bill. First, I want to thank the Departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare for its Report on the Protection and Care for the Elderly Members of the Society (Senate Bill No.17 of 2018). Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, this is a very important Bill. It is a Bill that will go a long way to support and protect the elderly members of our society. As stated by the Committee, the Bill provides a framework for caring for the elderly. When put in place, this framework will empower and protect the elderly. I have gone around this country and seen how our society treats the elderly."
