Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, the Bill be amended in clause 12 in the proposed new definition of “stamp” by inserting the words “recognised by the Government,” immediately after the words “adhesive stamp”. This Clause is bringing stamp duty to become electronic. The current manual stamp duty payment is cumbersome, but we are moving a further amendment so that the electronic stamp which is being used is the only one which is recognised by the Government so that it ensures that it seals loopholes or prevents them from misuse by fraudsters. They can use fraudulent means to do electronic stamping. So, we are proposing a further amendment to make it fool-proof.
