Deputy Speaker, I beg to move the following Motion: THAT, the House notes the Annual Reports on the State of the Judiciary for Financial Years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, submitted to the House, pursuant to the provisions of Article 254(1) of the Constitution and adopts the recommendations of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs as contained in the Reports of the Committee, laid on the Table of the House on Thursday, 9th May 2019. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Annual State of the Judiciary and Administration of Justice Report is prepared pursuant to Section 5(2)(b) of the Judicial Service Act of 2011, which requires the Chief Justice to submit to Parliament a report on the state of the Judiciary and administration of justice for consideration and adoption by this House. The Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs considered the Report and it is now before the House for consideration and finally, adoption."
