    "content": "Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker Sir, for giving me this opportunity. I rise pursuant to Standing Order No.48 (1) to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries concerning the state of Ahero and West Kano Irrigation Schemes. In the Statement, the Committee should: (1) Explain measures being undertaken by the Government to mechanize rice production in Ahero and West Kano Irrigation Schemes. (2) State plans put in place by the Government to increase rice production in Ahero and West Kano Irrigation Schemes, noting that achieving food security is one of the Government’s Big Four Agenda.
