"content": "The Cabinet Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries came here and it is clear that the Government has got no strategy. It has got many tactics and I think that their main strategy is to pray that God blows a wind that will take the locusts to another country, to pass the problem to another country. I did not hear it in his Statement, but the Cabinet Secretary had agreed that he would bring to Parliament an economic and social impact analysis of the locust infestation and that should go on record so that in two weeks, that comes to the House. Finally, there are those who have been eating grasshoppers as a delicacy. We are interested in these locusts but our worry is that we are being told not to eat them after they have been sprayed. My question is, if this pesticide is, indeed, safe as the Ministry says, why are we being stopped from eating those locusts? It means that the Ministry is lying to this Republic. Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Munya, must tell us the truth; is the pesticide safe or not? If it is safe, then let him allow us to eat the locusts when they venture into our regions.
