It is a planting season and we must take stock of this menace before planting is done and the green products come up. If we do not do so, it will destroy the future of this nation and the food basket will obviously dwindle. With those few remarks, I support the Statement by the Chairperson of the Committee. We need to follow up on the promises made on this Floor by the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, on whether those measures are being carried out effectively or have been relaxed because they have appeared before us and, therefore, feel that the matter is over."
