    "content": "The following statutes, among others, have been enacted that further the provision of the leadership and integrity to deter corruption and other economic crimes with respect to public officers- (1) Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Act. (2) Public Officers Ethics Act. (3) The Leadership and Integrity Act. (4) The Public Service Values and Principles Act. (5) The Bribery Act. (6) The Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act. (7) The Public Finance Management (PFM) Act. (8) The Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act. There are, therefore, plenty of laws that make the provisions of leadership and integrity, criminalize corruption and economic crimes. Corruption, however, is still rampant in this country, and tackling it continues to be a challenge. Investigative agencies still face an uphill task in investigating and establishing corruption and corrupt practices. Madam Temporary Speaker, noting that some public officers seem to be living large, one of the ways of identifying and rooting out corruption maybe undertaking lifestyle audits on public officers suspected to be living beyond their means. There is, however, no legal framework for carrying out these lifestyle audits. This Bill, therefore, seeks to cure this lacuna in making provisions for a lifestyle audit process; the standard of professional conduct when carrying out lifestyle audits, The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
