This amendment will ensure that the fishing industry thrives, and that the fishermen are not exploited in any way. It will boost the status of the fish farming industry. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the principal Act of this Bill, 2016, has salient information that would help the fishermen in this country. In the past, we did not have an authority that would regulate the fishing industry. However, when the authority was established, it addressed salient issues like subsistence farming.
