    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise on a point of order to seek for a Ministerial Statement from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, regarding the intended privatization of the Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited. In particular, the Minister should address the following issues: (a) Why and how was the Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited established? (b) Provide the details of the bank’s outset performance in terms of loans, deposits and profits in the last three years; 2009, 2008 and 2007. (c) Given the bank’s current performance, the Minister should explain the rationale for privatizing the bank at this time. (d) The Minister should tell us who have been appointed as professional advisors on this transaction and at what cost to the bank. (e) State which method of divestiture the bank or the Government are considering and in particular, whether Kenyans including the staff of Consolidated Bank will be accorded the opportunity through an Initial Public Offer (IPO). Thank you."
