Let me begin by thanking you and the Speaker of the National Assembly for according Members of these two Houses an opportunity to eulogize Mzee Moi, because we will not get any other time either tomorrow or Wednesday. I also want to thank you and the organizing committee for giving Kenyans an opportunity to come and pay their last respect, while Mzee lies in state here at the Parliament precincts. The curtain has fallen on a man who will go down in the annals of history as the longest serving President of this country, and the second longest Member of Parliament of the Republic of Kenya after Mzee Kibaki, who is the longest serving Member of Parliament with 50 years. The late former President Moi did 47 years, and I am not far away from there."
